Road accidents attract quite a lot of publicity in Cyprus. While I do not believe the problem is as exacerbated over the last few years as reporters present it to be, I am taking the opportunity to suggest improvements on how this could be tackled. Alfred Pennyworth used to say that “Some people just want to watch the world burn.” I do not know about the World, but as a friend told me once, some people deserve to get burned. And they all have one common characteristic – Self-centeredness.
It’s OK to be sentimental. It’s OK to be romantic about your business ideas, because this gives traction at the beginning of a project, which is the hardest part. Inertia can then take over, but in the beginning, you need this traction. Overlooking however, the practicalities of something may ultimately reduce your credibility.
