Business Valuation in Practice (Digital download)

11.00

This is the downloadable version of what is probably the most practical book on private business valuations out there. (Well, it’s the most practical that I’ve come across anyway!)

Main features:

  • Written in very common fonts (Times New Roman and Arial) that can be “read” by all digital devices. (The hard copy version is written in more “exotic” professional publishing fonts, which may not be “readable” by all hardware. The difference in the fonts is the reason why the digital copy is shorter by one page.)
  • Replaced front and back cover pictures with plain text to save you space on your device! (I can still send you the full version if you want-Just ask!)
  • Written by a professional, for professionals (as well as those who aspire to become professionals);
  • Written by a reader, for readers – As I read a lot myself, I know what makes a good business book;
  • Written by a teacher, for students – I have many times been asked to take the mantle of the teacher to transmit knowledge. I have used my relevant experience in writing this book;
  • Concise in size, but detailed where it must be – I don’t teach you everything I know, but everything that you need to know;
  • Chapters written in the same order, as that of the steps you would follow to complete your work;
  • Main points of each chapter clearly highlighted in a separate page, to help you memorize them easily;
  • Quick summary paragraph, highlighted in each chapter’s introductory page, to be used as a quick reminder of the chapter’s contents;
  • Follows largely the same approach as my DCF and WACC model template. Using the book in conjunction with the Excel model, will turbocharge your learning experience.

Description

This is the digital download version of my book on private company valuations.

As an avid reader myself, I suggest that if you are interested in my book, you purchase the hard copy version. (What I am suggesting here is not to my financial interest-as I am sure you can understand-since the margins on digital products are way higher than those on physical ones.) I find learning to be much more efficient when using printed books, although I do recognize the merits of digital versions and why certain people prefer them.

This is probably the most practical book on private business valuations out there. (Well, it’s the most practical that I’ve come across anyway!)

A business book isn’t (or at least, it shouldn’t be) something that someone sells to increase their revenues, or to improve their personal image. A business book is first and foremost a learning tool that accounts for the needs of everyday professional life.

Sadly, my experience as a reader thus far, has shown me that most business valuation books are written either in an academic style that barely sets them apart from theoretical texts, or in a very abstract way that lacks pragmatic guidance. To make matters worse, these books do not “call their readers to action” to enhance learning, and so their dust settles rather rapidly. Finally, I find that most of these books are not written with the reader’s needs in mind: They shuffle a lot of information in the reader’s head, trying to teach them everything that the writer knows, but which the reader may not need. As a result, when the reader does have some need of the book, this can very rarely be used as a quick reference tool that would enhance both the learning, as well as the quality of the reader’s work.
