Who is Marios?

Marios-Nicolaos Charalambous: Biographical Sketch

Marios-Nicolaos Charalambous is one of those rare people who can say they have ownership of their career and mean it. A trusted adviser, Marios has worked with a multitude of internationally recognized brands in sectors such as Hospitality, Manufacturing, Retail and Banking, as well as with an even greater number of SMEs, SOEs and other organizations.

His work typically includes advanced financial modeling, which forms the core of all corporate finance-related projects. Furthermore, his MBA background coupled with his continuous personal learning and involvement in the fields of management consulting, operational advisory and people growth, have allowed him to become one of the best-rounded advisory experts available in the market today. Consequently, he is in a position to help his clients improve in a number of areas, ranging from capital management and process optimization, to people development and strategic realignment.

Marios has a natural knack for effectively transmitting his ideas, views, and advice to others. His writing and speaking are clear and easy to follow, but hard to replicate. The true value of his work however, is not found in his deliverables, but in the lingering effects he creates for the people and organizations he is working with, by transferring his extensive knowledge into pragmatic application.

He has acted as a coach to nearly all new advisory hires during his time with both EY and GT and is also mentoring and providing support with business and strategic planning, on a pro-bono basis, to young entrepreneurs, whenever he has the chance to do so.

When he is not working with his clients, Marios revels in studying subjects of general interest that range from history and political science, to aeronautics and space exploration. He is also very passionate about sports: He was a Tae Kwon Do athlete for 20 consecutive years, (a sport which he served from every position possible: Athlete, Coach, and Referee) until an ACL injury cut his career short, but not before claiming a silver medal in the 2009 British STL championship! Nowadays he watches basketball regularly, in addition to playing the sport whenever some poor soul accepts him in their team.

Marios grew up in Athens, Greece, where he travels regularly to visit his family, which he misses more than anything else in the world.
